Balenciaga is senior fashion brand and it’s also the design’s last name.
As the representative of the 20th century’s great genius designer, Cristobal Balencaaga was born in 1895 in a Spanish fishing village. When he was a child, he showed much interset in designing. At that time a new family moved to the small village. When Balenciaga played withthe child, he found that children’s grandmother dress was elegant, after the agreement from the old lady, Balencaaga made a set which is the same with the old lady’s. This became his maiden work.
When Balenciaga was 13 years old, he met with Spanish marquis Mrs Icasa Torre. Young Balenciaga dared to make judgments about her noble dress. But his insightful criticism impressed the marquis lady deeply. The marquis lady appreciated Balenciaga’s artistic talent in designing, and provided financial aid to open his own tailor shop and the shop is named Balenciaga.
Balenciaga successively set up stores in Spain’s other big cities. He often went to Paris to buy large number of clothing, and he designed it later. He displayed his ability for the first time in the Spain fashion. Later because of the Spanish civil war in1937, he moved to Paris, and opened his own boutiques.
